A few weeks after Donald Trump says he’d like to punch a protester in the mouth, a Donald Trump fan punches a man in the face at a Trump rally. It’s not the first time someone’s been assaulted by a member of Trump’s mob, and it probably won’t be the last. Welcome to Donald Trump’s America.
During Nancy Reagan’s funeral, Hillary Clinton went on national television and praised the Reagans for starting a “national dialogue” at at time when nobody wanted to talk about AIDS, or do anything about AIDS. Only thing is, that’s the opposite of the truth. The Reagan Administration epitomized people who didn’t want to say or do anything about the AIDS epidemic. In 1984, even after tens of thousands of gay Americans had died from the disease, the Reagan administration was still joking about it.
After #Marco Rubio’s epic defeat, and Ted Cruz’s inevitable trouncing, #Paul Ryan seems to be the GOP’s next savior. But only if #Donald Trump fails to win enough delegates to win on the first round of balloting at the convention (in which case they could draft anyone… even a guy who loves to play hard to get).
There have been several assaults at Donald Trump’s increasingly violent rallies, dating back months. He promised to pay the legal fees of any supporter who attacked a protester, and he’s thinking of keeping that promise. He’s probably not worried about it costing him much, since the authorities who work his rally tend to look the other way.
